ABOUT THE WINNERS

First place: Jared Fuller, "The Moral Paper Route"
Jared Fuller is a 24 year-old serial entrepreneur, creative director, and strategic marketer. He is the Founder, President, and CEO of Market Aces, Co-Founder and CEO of Liberty Business Bureau (America's first free market trade association), and is a partner and owner in several other software ventures. Jared is an active proponent of free enterprise who also sits on the Board of Advisors to the Atlas Society.
 
Second place: Joseph Farris, "Freedom's Price"
Joseph Farris owns a Chicago-based production company that he runs with his wife, Megan. Their work includes feature films, short films, commercials, concerts, broadcast television, documentaries, and corporate projects.
 
Third place: Don Brookins, "Joke of the Day"
Don Brookins is an award-winning photojournalist with more than 40 years of experience in the television industry. He is the owner and founder of Mountain Streaming Video Services based in Colorado. He works with small business and individual clients as a creative director to help shape the stories they wish to tell. Don is a video story teller, shooting and editing his own material. He is a graduate of Emerson College.

Solar radiation management: An evolving climate policy option

As the controversy over climate policy has grown, it has been said that greenhouse gas (GHG) control is too hard but solar radiation management (SRM) is too easy. Join AEI for a discussion of the potential economic benefits, as well as the risks of SRM with Lee Lane, J. Eric Bickel and Nobel Laureate Thomas Schelling. A reception will follow.

At this event, panelists will address pension reform challenges by presenting the results of three research papers commissioned by AEI through a generous grant from the Smith Richardson Foundation.

Long-term care: Markets or mandates?

Mark Warshawsky, a well-known expert in retirement finance and a newly appointed commissioner, will explain the implications of a publicly funded long-term care insurance program. Then a panel will debate whether another government program the best way to ensure that families can afford to provide the necessary services for their aging loved ones.
