Using Podcasts

What is a podcast?

A podcast is a syndicated feed (which works just like RSS feeds) that delivers new multimedia content to you through a podcatching software such as iTunes. Once you subscribe to a podcast feed, new audio or video files in that feed will be sent to your podcatching software, where you can play them back at your leisure. You can also download the podcast episodes to a portable media player.

AEI offers audio podcasts in each of its six research areas: Economic Policy Studies, Foreign and Defense Policy Studies, Health Policy Studies, Legal and Constitutional Studies, Political and Public Opinion Studies, and Social and Cultural Studies. Subscribe to a podcast today to receive multimedia materials from our events.

Start listening to podcasts now

  • Install podcatching software. Popular podcatching software include iTunes and Juice.

  • Subscribe to a podcast. If you click on a podcast link and it does not automatically bring up your podcatching software, do the following steps.
    • Copy the podcast link location (or the podcast URL).
    • Open your podcatching software and bring up the interface that allows you to add subscriptions. In iTunes, click on
      Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast.
    • Paste the podcast link as a new subscription and save your new podcast to subscribe.
