This AEI address on congressional reform given by House Republican Leader John Boehner is part of a collection of five speeches assembled by Boehner in a document he calls "Pillars of a New Majority."
A transcript of Boehner's prepared remarks at AEI is here.
The House of Representatives is known as "the people's house," but public trust in the Democratically controlled Congress is now as low as it was in 2006, when the Republicans had a majority. According to a recent PSRA/Pew study, only 31 percent of the public want "most members of Congress reelected," while 56 percent do not. At this AEI event, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) will outline his vision of reforms that are needed to address the past failures of Democrats and Republicans alike.
