Transparency in Education: AEI Education Expert on President Obama's Remarks at UMich

In today's speech at the University of Michigan, President Obama highlighted the need for increased transparency in higher education to empower students and parents to make more informed choices about where to attend college.

American Enterprise Institute (AEI) education expert Andrew P. Kelly's influential research on increasing transparency has covered the truth behind higher education disclosure laws, the real price of college, and the impact of information on choice in higher education.

"Each year, far too many students go off to colleges where they are unlikely to graduate. Students and parents deserve clear, comparable information on college costs and quality."

Andrew P. Kelly is a research fellow in education policy studies at AEI and is available for interviews. He can be reached at andrew.kelly@aei.org or through jenna.talbot@aei.org.
