About This Event

The panel will focus on the aspects for the Doha Agenda most closely linked to economic development. It will examine linkages that are positive, such as tariff liberalization of agriculture, and those that are negative, such as giving developing countries partial or complete exemption from liberalizing their own barriers. The so-called Singapore issues (investment, competition, and government procurement) will be discussed to determine the extent these issues can be addressed through multilateral negotiations. Finally, the panel will attempt to establish the best outcome that could arise from the Doha agreement.
