At this briefing, AEI's Karl Zinsmeister, editor in chief of The American Enterprise magazine, will share his experiences as an embedded journalist reporting from Iraq, which are described in his recently published book Boots on the Ground: A Month with the 82nd Airborne in the Battle for Iraq (St. Martin's Press, September 2003). Zinsmeister will also discuss his continuing communications with U.S. military forces that remain in Iraq and with associates involved in Iraq's reconstruction.

He will additionally introduce exclusive new opinion research conducted during the month of August in four Iraqi cities. John Zogby, president of Zogby International, vice president of the Arab-American Institute, and a leading American survey researcher in the Middle East, will summarize the findings of the poll commissioned by The American Enterprise magazine on current Iraqi public opinion.
