The recently released census data showing a dramatic rise in various minority populations within the United States, and especially among Hispanics, suggest that America is on its way to becoming an even more diverse society, with some claiming that minorities will become the majority by 2050. Will the result be greater racial polarization? Or will shared values and the emergence of a category of Americans who describe themselves as multi-ethnic lead to a blurring of racial tension? Amitai Etzioni explores these questions in his new book, The Monochrome Society. The author and a distinguished panel of experts will discuss these and other issues.
