Directions to AEI

Many scientists predict that, by the middle of this century, we will be able to cure many diseases and even enhance human capabilities such as intelligence and physical stamina by means of genetic engineering. Should we embrace or reject such a possibility? Should each person be given the fullest opportunity to fulfill his or her potential--even if it involves "enhancing" human nature? Does genetic engineering, like other modern technologies, offer human beings greater scope for growth? Or is genetic engineering incompatible with man’s given nature? Ronald Bailey of Reason magazine and Adam Wolfson of The Public Interest continue their print debate in this face-to-face encounter.
