David Bradford, one of the pioneers in the formulation of the consumption tax, has now applied the same principles to the field of international taxation. In this seminar in AEI’s tax policy series, Bradford presents his design for a new, simplified international tax system. By basing the system on consumption, it manages to exclude from taxation many financial instruments that led to its present complexity. Daniel Frisch and Stuart Leblang will discuss the paper.
