Online distribution of video programming, one of the much anticipated applications of the Internet, has yet to be substantially developed. Until recently, technological limitations, limited broadband availability, intellectual property protection, and a lack of demand, among other factors, stifled development of the market. Conditions, however, are becoming increasingly ripe for online distribution of video programming.
