Because of the ongoing opioid epidemic, the number of children in foster care has risen dramatically over the past several years. On any given day, almost 443,000 children are in foster care, and nearly every state is struggling to find foster homes. Among parents who do sign up to foster children, around half decide to quit within one year.

Please join AEI’s Naomi Schaefer Riley as she leads an expert discussion on how advanced data tools can help retain and recruit more (and more qualified) foster parents, how faith communities are changing the way we support and train these volunteers, and how state agencies can change the face of fostering and the experience of the men and women caring for our most vulnerable children.
