Opportunities on campus
The American Enterprise Institute is launching a new initiative: AEI on Campus. This initiative connects top college students across the country with the ideas, research and network of AEI. Members of our growing student network share AEI’s commitment to build a better world by expanding the potential for human flourishing through free enterprise and American leadership in the world.
Our student network will start a new conversation on campus centered on expanding liberty, increasing individual opportunity and strengthening free enterprise. Students will receive top-level support from AEI, access to our network of scholars and supporters, and opportunities to attend conferences at our headquarters in Washington, DC.
Get involved with AEI on your campus: apply to be an Executive Council member on the first 25 pilot campuses, join us as a Student Ambassador on many other campuses across the country, and sign up for our biweekly Campus Update newsletter.
Learn more about AEI's work at colleges and universities across the country and start a new conversation on your campus today:
Our biweekly Campus Update newsletter brings together commentary on current events and a wide array of public policy issues, while offering ways to get involved with the AEI community through internships, job opportunities and more.
In the 2013-14 school year, we are piloting Executive Councils on 25 select campuses. These Executive Councils are small teams of students (no more than five) who are hand-selected to serve AEI in a leadership capacity for one school year, directing AEI programs and hosting at least six events on campus.
We are launching this robust outreach program on a limited number of campuses this year. If your school is not yet on the list, apply to be a Student Ambassador and stay tuned for updates!
Opportunities and responsibilities for Executive Council Members:
► Lead AEI's campus outreach at your college or university by hosting at least six events on campus
► Participate in exclusive networking dinners and events with top scholars, entrepreneurs, business leaders and policymakers
► Attend leadership conferences in Washington, DC, and other key cities
Apply to become an Executive Council member or sign-up to work with the Executive Council on your campus as a Field Coordinator. Field Coordinators will receive the biweekly Campus Update newsletter and assist in hosting events, coordinating student outreach and advertising opportunities to get involved with AEI.
Because we are launching our Executive Councils on a limited number of campuses, we are relying on Student Ambassadors to make the case for free enterprise and American leadership in the world on campuses outside of our target list. In the coming months, we will establish a robust presence on many more campuses based on the foundation that our Student Ambassadors build.
Opportunities and responsibilities for Student Ambassadors:
► Distribute AEI resources and host at least two forums for discussion on campus per year.
► Attend campus events including debates, reading discussion groups and more
► Participate in virtual policy discussions with scholars, policymakers and business leaders
► Attend regional gatherings and the summer Idea Summit in Washington, DC
► Sign up students on campus for our biweekly Campus Update newsletter
Apply to become a Student Ambassador.
We encourage you to invest in AEI's work on campus. The suggested donation for students is $25. To donate, select "Other," and enter your donation amount. We understand that resources are scarce for college students, and if you truly cannot afford to give, we understand. But we do hope that you will consider sacrificing the cost of a couple of large pizzas to help support our work together!
