Tim Carney and Ramesh Ponnuru Join AEI as Visiting Fellows

American Enterprise Institute (AEI) president Arthur Brooks announced today that Tim Carney, a senior political columnist for the Washington Examiner has joined AEI as a visiting fellow in the Culture of Competition project. Brooks also announced that Ramesh Ponnuru, a senior editor for National Review and a columnist for Bloomberg View has joined AEI as a visiting fellow where he will examine the future of conservatism, with particular attention to issues of health care, economic policy, and constitutionalism.

"We're excited to have Tim Carney join AEI as a visiting fellow to help head up our Culture of Competition project*," said Brooks. "Tim has done important work examining corporate cronyism, political rent seeking, and the use of political power to achieve economic ends, and we look forward to his contributions to AEI."

Brooks continued, "always quick to challenge accepted orthodoxies, Ramesh is one of the most thoughtful and engaging of today's young political and policy writers. He is a great addition to AEI's growing group of fellows with deep understandings of not only American intellectual traditions but also public policy making."

*The American Enterprise Institute's "Culture of Competition" project highlights the policies and practices that damage our national dedication to competition and promotes positive alternatives. Through the work of AEI's scholars and fellows, the project examines barriers to competition in all areas of American life from the economy to the world of ideas and seeks to reinvigorate a competitive American culture so that everyone can reap the benefits of a fair American economy.
