  1. A significant amount of the funding from the Feds is for at-risk kids.

    It’s called “chapter” funding and at the schools I’m familiar with that funding is restricted and supplements what, in the past, has been little or no dedicated funding for kids with known needs.

    the Common Core IMHO is a very fiscally conservative idea.

    Why have 50 standards and 50 curriculums at 50 times the cost?

    Just imagine 50 standards for Interstate Highways.
