Fascinating commentary on an extraordinarily complex issue. Thanks to all.

The so called “War on Drugs” is not a Reagan policy; it goes back to Wilson. LBJ instigated handouts to poor in such a manner that broke the paternal family. When father left home, kids began to grow up on the street – the blacktop jungle.
What is true is that drugs cause untold damage to society and no one has a suitable answer to the problem.
