  1. Then government officials lie and blame the blackout on sabotage by “the extreme right-wing.”

    Gee, that sounds familiar.

Venezuela is a lost cause. Chavez, like his hero Castro, purposely drove out or stifled the innovators and entrepreneurs. Coleman Young did the same to Detroit 40 years ago. The Curley Effect is a highly effective political tool for the Left. The more it fails, the more it is rewarded.

You’d think the republicans would mention the Curley effect in every election everywhere. Ann Coulter is right. They truly are the stupid party.

      1. You’d think the republicans would mention the Curley effect in every election everywhere“…

Well the Republicans can’t really make to much of an issue of it since I’m pretty sure they too have been using the ‘Curley Effect’ themselves…

        1. Hi Juandos,

Not sure how that would work?

Mass illegal immigration is simply the Curley Effect writ large.

      1. Che, I meant to point that out. Thanks

One could say the libertarian policy on illegal immigration is like the Curley Effect in reverse: the more their ideal is implemented, the more their overall agenda(most of it I agree with) goes bye-bye.

          Yes.

  2. IF o’bama actually was in the real world (which he seems not to be) and he saw that, it’d probably make him salivate, maybe giving him an excuse for Martial Law!

  3. 10 years anniversary of the Great Toronto-to-New-York Blackout was celebrated this August. I hate to say it, but capitalism magic doesn’t prevent blackouts.

    1. I hate to say it, but capitalism magic doesn’t prevent blackouts“…

Well OK but ask yourself, did government set conditions where a blackout would end up becomining inevitable?

There has been big government over reach by both state and national government on the electric company for several many decades now…

They’ve been celebrating the Great North Korean Blackout for more than 60 years. Get back to us when it’s over.

      1. did I say that I like socialism or socialism helps against blackouts (mind it – it could help if it would be a stated goal of current beloved leader – they would do rolling brown-outs with much less hesitation and prevent proper blackouts)?

but it’s a bit funny when you guys explain everything that is good by a free enterprise and anything that is bad by government intervention.

It’s really just that simple. People make better choices for themselves than anyone else can make for them.
