Polls

AEI scholars study public opinion on topics such as terrorism, business and tax issues, welfare reform, the environment, gay marriage, and work and leisure. This section of the website gathers together AEI research, books, and events focused on polls.

Feature: AEI Political Report

AEI has just released its ninth AEI Political Report this year. The report covers recent polls on myriad topics, including President Barack Obama’s approval ratings, Americans’ perspectives on the Democratic and Republican Parties, health care reform, the war in Afghanistan, and more. The polls referenced show that while the president’s approval ratings have been slipping since the first polls taken after his inauguration, he still maintains an approval rating of over 50 percent. The Political Report also shows Americans’ opinions about Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons; 61 percent believe it is important to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons even if it means taking military action.
