Roundtable Discussion with István Stumpf. István Stumpf is the head of the office of the Prime Minister of Hungary.

November 24:
Lecture: New Agreements, Enduring Realities: Israel, the Middle East and the Continuing Iraqi Crisis. The NAI hosted Dore Gold, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations.

October 22:
Lecture: The Third Way: A View from the Right. The NAI hosted David Davis, member of the British parliament, for a lecture and private dinner.

August 29-September 1:
Regional Roundtable: "Divided West, Divided East?" The NAI convened a roundtable conference in Amman, Jordan and Tel Aviv, Israel. Speakers included HRH Crown Prince El Hassan bin Talal and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

May 27:
"America and Europe: Will European Monetary Union Fracture the Alliance?" The NAI hosted Michael Portillo, former Secretary of State for Defense, U.K., for a lecture and private dinner.

May 1-4:
Congress of Istanbul. The NAI held its third annual congress in Istanbul, Turkey.

February 9:
Conference and press briefing: "New NATO, New Challenges". The NAI sponsored a conference featuring U.S. Secretary of State Madeline Albright and the foreign ministers of Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria.

January 15:
Dinner Roundtable: Dinner with the Baltic Presidents. The NAI, in association with the U.S.-Baltic Foundation, hosted a dinner in Washington, D.C. with the presidents of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
