| Government and politics in Britain have changed in recent years, with a convergence between campaigning and governing creating the "permanent campaign." Governments and political parties now use campaign techniques on a daily basis and this has significantly affected the nature of the British government, Parliament and all groups trying to influence government. This one-day event, organized by the Hansard Society and the Brookings Institution will explore the idea of the permanent campaign. The event will bring together senior politicians, civil servants, policy makers, public affairs professionals, lobbyists, pollsters, and campaigning groups. |
