Iraq's January 30 elections are over, but the counterinsurgency campaign rages on. Is the United States winning in Iraq, and what does victory there mean? What are the broader implications of the U.S. military's intervention in Iraq for the global war on terror and American foreign policy—its direction, prospects, and wisdom?
These and other questions will be the subject of an AEI luncheon discussion. Speakers include Andrew J. Bacevich, director of the Center of International Relations at Boston University, and Peter Feaver, professor of political science at Duke University. Thomas Donnelly, AEI resident fellow in defense and security policy, will moderate.
